The Indian administration had informed the Canadian government from time to time about the Khalistani terrorist Hardeep ( Hardeep ) Singh Nijjar killed in Canada and had told that a Red Corner Notice was also issued against him, but the Canadian administration never took any action against Nijjar. Of, whereas he was given Canadian citizenship on the basis of wrong facts. According to Indian records, about a dozen cases of murder and other terrorist activities were registered against Hardeep Singh Nijjar in India. Seeing the police tightening its grip against him, Hardeep Singh fled from Kanijjarbharat in 1997 using a fake passport in the name of Ravi Sharma.
Later Hardeep Singh reached Canada where he applied for asylum in Canada saying that he was being tortured in India because he belonged to a special class. On the basis of his fabricated story, the then Canadian administration had refused to grant him citizenship. Interestingly, after his citizenship claim was rejected, Nijjar again applied for Canadian citizenship 11 days later. This time, the basis of his application was that he had married a woman from there.
Nijjar got Canadian citizenship under mysterious circumstances
The then Canadian authorities also rejected his claim because the woman he was talking about marrying had come to Canada on the basis of marrying a different man. After this, after many years, Nijjar was suddenly given Canadian citizenship under mysterious circumstances. After all, the Canadian government never informed the Indian government about what those circumstances were.
Despite Red Corner Notice, Canada did not arrest Nijjar
Interpol Red Corner Notice was issued against Hardeep Singh in November 2014. United Nation’s Interpol, after thoroughly investigating India’s claim, had issued a Red Corner Notice against it. In this regard, Indian officials again provided complete information against Hardeep Singh to the Canadian administration including complete information about the Red Corner Notice.
Interestingly, despite having a Red Corner Notice, the Canadian administration did not even issue a notice to put Nijjar in the ‘No Fly List’. Hardeep Singh was shot dead in Canada in June this year because he had joined the gang war there.
