Hyderabad. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday said the state government would buy 125 kg of gold from the Reserve Bank of India for gold-studded ‘Vimana Gopuram’ of the Yadadri temple. Talking to reporters after visiting Yadadri, Rao said the state needs to buy gold worth Rs 60-65 crore and the temple authorities are in touch with the experts doing this work at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
Rao said, “As per the estimates, the temple needs 125 kg of gold. We decided to get it. Its cost will be 60 to 65 crores. The government has the capacity to do this work. We have decided to buy gold from Reserve Bank of India. We will buy gold from RBI after earning money so that we get pure gold.
He said that as the first donor, on behalf of his family, he will donate 1.16 kg of gold and likewise many ministers and MLAs have also come forward for this.
Let us tell you that the Chief Minister of Telangana has a special focus on the construction of this temple. The seriousness of the CM regarding this temple can be gauged from the fact that even during the lockdown in Yayadri Bhuvanagiri district, the work of giving a grand look to the temple continued. The total cost of this temple is said to be around 1200 crores. The construction work is being completed in two phases.
It is said that after separation from Andhra Pradesh, there is no temple like Tirupati in Telangana. This is the reason why the state government is completing it as a dream project. Expectations have also been expressed to encourage tourism in large numbers from this temple.
