Terrorist attacks in Kashmir before polling(Terrorist)

New Delhi: Two days before the Lok Sabha election polling, terrorists  (Terrorist) carried out two separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. A former sarpanch died in the firing of terrorists while a couple from Rajasthan got injured. Four phases of the marathon Lok Sabha elections being held in seven phases in the country have been completed and voting for the fifth phase is to be held on May 20.

Former sarpanch Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh was shot in Hirpora village of Shopian district. Later he died in the hospital. An official said, “He (sarpanch) was taken to a hospital where he died.”

The second incident is from Anantnag. According to the information, terrorists opened fire on an open tourist camp near Pahalgam in South Kashmir, in which a couple from Rajasthan got injured. Officials gave this information on Saturday. He said that the incident took place in Yannar of Pahalgam tourist resort in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir late Saturday night.

Kashmir Zone Police posted on ‘X’, “Terrorists opened fire in Yannar of Anantnag in which Jaipur resident Farah and her husband Tabrez were injured. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment. The area has been cordoned off.” Police said that the injured couple has been admitted to a nearby hospital.

Voting to be held in Baramulla on Monday

Voting is to be held on Baramulla Lok Sabha seat on Monday in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah from National Conference is in the fray from here. Along with this, Sajjad Lone of People’s Conference and Fayaz Mir of People’s Democratic Party are also in the fray.

Voting for Udhampur and Jammu seats has been done on 19 and 26 April respectively. Voting was held in Srinagar on 13 May, while voting will be held on 25 May on Anantnag-Rajouri seat.
