Team India disappointed again

The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka was played in Guwahati. After the century debut of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, on the basis of Virat Kohli’s century, India scored 377 runs for 7 wickets. Skipper Rohit had included KL Rahul in the playing XI after leaving out the in-form Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan, but he could not take advantage of the opportunity again.

India won the Guwahati ODI against Sri Lanka by 67 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. Virat Kohli scored 113 runs while captain Rohit Sharma played an inning of 83 runs.
Captain Rohit Sharma fielded batsman KL Rahul, who was yearning to score runs in the last few series, in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. He was flopping badly on the Bangladesh tour.
Top form batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan had to sit out due to KL’s place in the playing XI. In this match, KL scored 39 runs in 29 balls. He could not convert a good start into a big score and Team India missed the chance to reach 400 runs.
Captain Rohit had given KL Rahul a place in the playing XI as a wicket-keeper batsman. Chief wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan had to sit out. If the captain had kept the form in mind, then Ishaan could have been given a chance in place of KL.
KL Rahul has crossed the 50-run mark only twice in the last 10 ODIs. He has not been able to reach even 40 runs in 7 innings. Talking about the last 5 international innings, he has scored 22, 23, 10 and 2 runs in 4 test innings. Scored 14 and 8 runs in the last two ODIs on Bangladesh tour.
