Meteorology: India Meteorological Department IMD in its forecast till October 6 has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Maharashtra. According to this report of IMD, there is a possibility of storm along with lightning during this period. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Sikkim will receive light to moderate rainfall from October 2-6. According to the weather forecast released ( issued ) by IMD, there will be heavy rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on October 4 and 5.
Meanwhile, on October 3 i.e. today, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at different places in Bihar. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Northeast India, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh on October 2-5. The IMD has also predicted lightning and thundershowers over central India during this period.
According to IMD, there is a possibility of widespread light moderate rainfall in Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh today. During this period, there is a possibility of storm along with lightning. According to Skymet Weather report, today there may be light to moderate rain with heavy rain at some places in Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan, West Bengal, Sikkim, West Assam and Meghalaya.
Light to moderate rain is likely over parts of Northeast India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, South Odisha, South Chhattisgarh, Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha. There is a possibility of light rain at one or two places over Western Himalayas, central parts of Uttar Pradesh, South Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep, South Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
