Thane: Thane Police’s SIT has arrested the main accused Ashwajit Gaikwad and his two associates Romil Patil and Sagar Shedge in the case of fatal attack on social media influencer Priya Singh. The police has also seized the car used in the incident. It is worth noting that on Sunday, Priya had appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Eknath Shinde, accusing the police of not helping. After which the accused were arrested only a few hours later.
Serious allegations against boyfriend
Earlier, while giving information about the formation of SIT, (SIT) Thane Police Commissioner Jai Jeet Singh had said on Sunday that the victim is a resident of Waghbil. She has accused her boyfriend Ashvajit Gaikwad and others of assaulting her. He was also accused of trying to run the Range Rover SUV over him. The victim has suffered serious injuries in the incident.
Police is investigating the case from all angles
He told that the victim has been admitted to a private hospital in Thane. FIR has been registered at Kasarvadavali police station. A SIT has been formed under the leadership of DCP Zone 5 Amar Singh Jadhav to investigate the matter and it is looking into all aspects of the case.

He also said that statements of witnesses are being recorded and forensic evidence is being collected. If further facts are revealed during the investigation, more sections of the law will be added and action will be taken against the accused.
Attempt to run car over Priya
According to the police, this incident took place at around 4.30 am on December 11 near a hotel on Ghodbunder Road. 26 year old Priya Singh had gone to meet Ashwit Gaikwad. There was an altercation between the two and Priya started taking her luggage from the car. Meanwhile, the person driving the car tried to crush him. Due to which she fell and got seriously injured.
