Second phase of budget session from today

New Delhi. The second phase of the budget session of Parliament is starting from today. In this part of the session, the main agenda of the government will be to pass the bills pending for a long time. In this phase of the session, 26 Bills are pending for passage in Rajya Sabha and 9 Bills in Lok Sabha. On the other hand, the priority of the government will be to pass the Finance Bill. Apart from this, the government will also get the remaining pending bills passed. Opposition parties will surround the government on the alleged misuse of central agencies against the governments of non-BJP ruled states and the issue related to the Adani group.

In the second phase of the budget session, a meeting of opposition parties will be held on Monday morning to chalk out a strategy in both the Houses of Parliament. Opposition parties are also likely to raise the issue of raids on opposition leaders by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI in the second phase of the session. During the budget session, Trinamool Congress will again raise the issue of possible threat to LIC, SBI, inflation, unemployment, alleged misuse of central agencies.

Opposition party called a meeting
On the other hand, opposition parties will hold a meeting this morning to prepare a strategy for the second phase of the budget session of Parliament. In the second phase of the session, the opposition will try to corner the government on some other issues including the alleged misuse of central agencies and the Adani controversy.

Sources said the opposition parties are expected to meet at the office of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge in the Parliament House complex at around 10 am. He told that after this the MPs will participate in the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting where the strategy of the party will be discussed.

Issues like alleged misuse of central agencies, Adani dispute, border standoff with China, inflation, unemployment can be raised by the opposition parties during the session.

The issue of misuse of agencies
Congress leader K. Suresh said his party would continue to raise the Adani-Hindenburg issue and ask questions to the government as the government did not respond to it in the first phase of the session. The main issue in this is likely to be the alleged misuse of central agencies. This topic is in discussion regarding the ongoing investigation against RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family in the land-for-job scam.

The Samajwadi Party, the Left and the DMK are also protesting against the attack on the federal structure and the alleged misuse of institutions. During the session, Trinamool Congress will raise the issue of possible threat to LIC, SBI, inflation, unemployment, alleged misuse of central agencies.

Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Derek O’Brien had recently said that issues like investment impact, risk, inflation related to LIC have a serious impact on the lives of common people and Trinamool Congress will take up these issues. He said that his party would also raise the issue of alleged misuse of central agencies against the governments of non-BJP ruled states.
Significantly, the budget session of the Parliament started on January 31, the day President Draupadi Murmu addressed the joint sitting of both the Houses of the Parliament. As per the schedule, the second phase of the session will start from March 13 and continue till April 6.
