Russian Attack on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Hometown

Such Attacks Are No Less Than Terrorist Acts – Zelenskyy
Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on social media, “Russia launched a brutal attack on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih. The attacking drones struck twice; half an hour after the initial strike and the resulting fire, a second attack targeted emergency service personnel. My condolences go out to the families and loved ones of those killed. All the injured are receiving necessary medical treatment. Such attacks are no different from terrorist attacks, and the world must respond to them accordingly. Holding Russia accountable for its actions is essential for peace.”

14 Dead and 121 Injured in the Attack
Oleksandr Vilkul, the head of the local administration, stated that the death toll has reached 14. A total of 121 people were injured, including 22 children. He added that rescue operations are ongoing. Kryvyi Rih has been targeted multiple times during the war.
It is worth noting that the city of Kryvyi Rih has faced numerous attacks during the war, which has been ongoing for over four years. The deadliest of these occurred in April 2025, claiming the lives of 20 people, including nine children. This attack on Friday took place exactly 24 hours after Russia launched an overnight airstrike on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. In that earlier attack, Russia deployed multiple missiles and drones, resulting in the deaths of at least 16 people.
