New Delhi: The European Union (EU) on Wednesday welcomed Ukraine’ (Ukraine) s decision to agree to a 30-day ceasefire with Russia. Ukraine proposed a 30-day ceasefire with Russia in talks with the US in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. However, it is not clear at the moment whether Russia will accept the proposal or not, as the Kremlin (Russia’s President’s Office) said on Wednesday that it is waiting to receive information from the US about the conclusions of the talks.

EU, a group of 27 countries, said that it is ready to play its ‘full role’ in supporting future steps with Ukraine, the US and other partners. EU Foreign and Security Policy Affairs Representative Kaja Kallas said that the European Union “welcomes the joint statement issued by Ukraine and the US after the meeting in Saudi Arabia, which also includes the proposal for a ceasefire agreement.”
Russia launches missile attack on Ukraine
Kaja Kallas said that the European Union is ready to play its full role in supporting future steps along with Ukraine, the US and other partners. Meanwhile, deadly missile attacks have been carried out by Russia in Ukraine. At least five civilians have died in these attacks by Russia. The attacks have been carried out at a time when the US Trump administration has lifted the ban on military aid to Ukraine to deal with Russia’s aggression during talks between Kiev and Washington in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
