New Delhi. There is a possibility of rain in the next few days in many parts of the northwest of the country including Delhi. During this, heavy snowfall is expected in the western Himalayan region. According to the India Meteorological Department, between January 24 and 26, there is a possibility of rain in the plains of northwest India along with heavy rain and snowfall in the western Himalayan region. According to the IMD, a Western Disturbance is present as a cyclonic circulation over the lower and middle troposphere levels over Afghanistan and its neighbourhood. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation has formed over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas.
The IMD said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the western Himalayan region on Monday. After this, with its rapid increase between January 24 and 26, there is a high possibility of more rain and snowfall. Heavy rain and snowfall are expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh on 24 and 25 and Uttarakhand on 25 and 26 January. Whereas on January 23, there is a possibility of light rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. After this, light rain with thunder is expected at these places between Tuesday and Thursday.
According to IMD, within the next 3-4 days, there is a possibility of sporadic hailstorm at many places in Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. IMD said that during this time there is a possibility of light rain and thundershowers in North Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. From January 27, a new Western Disturbance can affect North West India. According to IMD, there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over most parts of northwest and central India during the next five days. Dense fog is forecast during night and morning over Himachal Pradesh and Bihar during next 24 hours and over Odisha during next 48 hours.
