According to the India Meteorological Department, between January 24 and 26, there is a possibility of rain in the plains of northwest India along with heavy rain and snowfall in the western Himalayan region. According to the IMD, a Western Disturbance is present as a cyclonic circulation over the lower and middle troposphere levels over Afghanistan and its neighbourhood. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation has formed over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas.
The IMD said that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the western Himalayan region on Monday. After this, with its rapid increase between January 24 and 26, there is a high possibility of more rain and snowfall. Heavy rain and snowfall are expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh on 24 and 25 and Uttarakhand on 25 and 26 January. Whereas on January 23, there is a possibility of light rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. After this, light rain with thunder is expected at these places between Tuesday and Thursday.
