Noida: It is written in big letters on the cigarette box that smoking cigarettes is injurious to health. But hardly would you know that the leftover piece that people throw away after smoking cigarettes is very dangerous for our environment. However, if those remaining pieces are disposed of properly, then it becomes a very useful thing. Actually, we are not saying this just like that. Naman Gupta, a resident of Noida, is proving this. Those who recycle cigarette butts to make soft toys and compost, so that the environment can be saved. Let’s understand how to do this whole process
Naman Gupta says that he started this work in the year 2018. Naman says that first he started doing research on cigarettes, after which he came to know that cigarette butts are very dangerous. It takes about 12 years for a butt to completely break down. So decided to recycle it. It was necessary to have the butt for recycling, so first of all started collecting it first.
Work is done in three phases
Naman Gupta says that to collect cigarette butts, he contacted scrap dealers spread across the country, they collect cigarette butts and send them to Noida. After that we separate it into three pieces. For example, the tobacco left in the cigarette separates the paper and the fiber in it. After that tobacco is used as fertilizer, its paper is recycled and other paper and fiber are processed to make cotton. On the other hand, once the cotton is ready, then soft toys and other things are made from it. Which we sell by contacting online site or company. All soft toys have their prices according to their size.
Naman says that we do this whole process in Noida’s Sector-132 only. We give employment to local women. We send all the goods to the women’s house, they make all the things at home. After that pay them in cash. At the same time, Naman tells that if anyone wants to contact us, he can contact on 09205423004.
Chhaya, who recycles cigarette butts, says that she has been working with Naman Gupta for almost five years. She tells that everyday I work in my house. We get paid for the things we make. If all the work is done sitting at home then there is no problem.
