Population Enumeration Questionnaire (Questionnaire )   f

New Delhi: The Government of India has issued a notification for the first phase of the census questionnaire for the census to be conducted next year in 2027. The questionnaire       (Questionnaire )   for the second phase, i.e., population enumeration, will be notified in due course. The first phase of the census will include questions related to house listing and house counting. The notification states that to collect information on house listing and house counting, the following questions will be asked from all individuals:

Whether the Head of the Household Belongs to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other
Ownership Status of the House
Number of Rooms Available for the Household
Number of Married Couples Residing in the Household
Main Source of Drinking Water
Availability of Drinking Water Source
Main Source of Lighting
Availability of Toilet Facility
Type of Toilet
Drainage of Wastewater
Availability of Bathroom
Availability of Kitchen and LPG/PNG Connection

Several pieces of information will be sought from the people.

This notification has been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Registrar General under the provisions of the Census Act, 1948. This replaces the previous notification issued in January 2020. According to the notification, census officials will collect information from all households in their designated areas through the house-listing and housing census schedules associated with Census 2027. These questions include details related to the condition of the house, household composition, and basic amenities. This includes building number, census house number, the main materials used for the floor, walls, and roof, the use of the census house, and the household number.
