PM’s security conspiracy hatched at CM Channi’s house: Majithia

Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has made a big claim on Tuesday regarding the lapse in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ferozepur, Punjab. Majithia said that the security lapse during the last PM Modi’s visit to Punjab was a conspiracy by the Charanjit Singh Channi government. He alleged that a conspiracy was hatched at CM Channi’s house.

Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia has also accused Chief Minister Channi of downplaying the issue of security lapse and abdicating his responsibility for it. He said, ‘We have seen earlier also how people who came to garland former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi took his life.’ Shiromani Akali Dal was earlier an ally of BJP.

Majithia has said this after getting anticipatory bail in the case registered against him under the NDPS Act. On the issue of security lapse during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Ferozepur, Majithia said that his security was compromised. He said that when the Chief Minister or the President of Punjab Congress travels, their paths are not blocked, but even then their plans to go through other routes are prepared.

Majithia asked why the state government failed to find an alternate route for the prime minister. The Akali Dal leader alleged, “It was a well-planned conspiracy to make the BJP and the entire system uncomfortable and who was hatching the conspiracy?” These included the then DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay, Channi, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa and State Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict on Wednesday on the matter of lapse in the security of Prime Minister Modi. The Supreme Court had reserved its decision on January 10. The court had indicated that there would be a high-level inquiry into the lapse in the security of the PM, as well as an inquiry was indicated by the retired judge to investigate the security lapses.
