PM Modi Commissions Three Naval Combatants

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated three naval combatants—INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer—to the nation, marking a significant boost to India’s naval capabilities. The commissioning of these vessels underscores India’s commitment to enhancing its maritime security and self-reliance in defense production.

During the commissioning ceremony, PM Modi highlighted the importance of a strong navy in safeguarding national interests and promoting regional stability. He emphasized that the addition of these ships will enhance the Indian Navy’s operational readiness and deterrence capabilities.

The induction of these combatants is part of India’s broader strategy to modernize its armed forces and reduce dependence on foreign defense equipment. The move is expected to bolster India’s position as a key maritime power in the Indo-Pacific region.
