PM Modi and Putin talk

New Delhi: PM Modi and Russian President Putin have talked on a phone call. PM Modi himself has given information about this on his X handle. PM Modi wrote on X, “Thank you to my friend, President Putin for sharing information about his phone call and his recent meeting with President Trump in Alaska.”

PM wrote on X, “India has consistently called for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine dispute and supports all efforts in this regard. I look forward to our continued exchange in the coming days.”

Several issues of bilateral cooperation also discussed

The two leaders also discussed several issues of bilateral cooperation and agreed to remain in close contact. President Putin shared his assessment of his meeting with United States President Donald Trump in Alaska last week.

Thanking President Putin, the Prime Minister underlined India’s firm stand for a peaceful resolution of the conflict through diplomacy and dialogue. He reiterated that India supports all efforts in this regard. The two leaders also discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation aimed at further strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia.

Putin and Trump recently met in Alaska

US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a summit in Alaska. During this, talks were held on relations between Russia and America, including the war in Ukraine. In a joint press conference held after the meeting, Vladimir Putin had said that if Trump had been the President of America in 2022, there would have been no war between Russia and Ukraine.
