What is the whole matter?
The entire controversy began last Monday. In Patna, the capital of Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was distributing appointment letters to newly appointed AYUSH doctors. During this time, Nitish Kumar removed the hijab from the face of a Muslim woman who was receiving the appointment letter. A video of this incident also surfaced, which led to a major uproar. Leaders of various opposition parties, including the RJD, termed Nitish Kumar’s act as ‘shameful’.

Nitish receives threat from Pakistan
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also received a threat from Pakistan. Pakistani don Shahzad Bhatti has threatened Nitish Kumar over the hijab incident. After this threat from the Pakistani don, the Bihar Police have swung into action. The Bihar DGP has ordered an investigation into the video of Don Shahzad Bhatti. Further action will be taken in the matter after the investigation of the video.

Women MPs criticize Nitish
On the hijab controversy involving CM Nitish Kumar, JMM MP Mahua Majhi said, “Everyone should ensure that a woman is treated respectfully and not harmed, regardless of her caste, religion, or age. If her actions resulted in the humiliation of that woman, then it should not have happened; it is wrong, and we condemn it.” Meanwhile, SP MP Iqra Hasan said, “The government talks about respecting women. A woman who reached that position based on her merit was insulted by the Chief Minister. Today, that woman has left Bihar and gone to live with her brother in Kolkata. We strongly condemn this incident. We understand that the Chief Minister is elderly, but no elderly person or father figure has the right to behave like this with a woman. We demand that the Chief Minister publicly apologize to the woman.”
