Amman: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Jordan. On Monday, PM Modi arrived in Amman, the capital of Jordan, ( ordan ) where he was welcomed by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein at the Husseiniya Palace. Following this, bilateral talks were held between PM Modi and the King of Jordan. During his meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, PM Modi expressed his heartfelt gratitude for his friendship and deep commitment to India.
What did PM Modi say?
During his meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “During your visit to India in 2018, we participated in a conference on Islamic heritage. I recall that our first meeting was also in 2015 on the sidelines of the UN, at an event focused on countering violent extremism. Even then, you spoke inspiringly on this subject. Your efforts to promote moderation are very important not only for regional peace but also for global peace. We will continue to take concrete steps together in this direction. We will further strengthen all other aspects of our mutual cooperation.”
Our stance against terrorism is the same – PM Modi
During his meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “You have played a very active and positive role on the Gaza issue from the very beginning. We all hope that peace and stability will prevail in this region. Our stance against terrorism is the same and clear. Under your leadership, Jordan has given a strong and strategic message to all of humanity against terrorism, extremism, and radicalism.” Both Countries Will Work in These Areas
During his talks with the King of Jordan, PM Modi said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome extended to me and my delegation. You have shared very positive thoughts on taking India-Jordan relations to new heights. I sincerely thank you for your friendship and your deep commitment to India. This year, India and Jordan are celebrating the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. This milestone will inspire us to move forward with renewed energy for many years to come. I am confident that today’s meeting will give a new momentum and depth to our relations. We will cooperate in areas such as trade, fertilizers, digital technology, infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges.”
What did the King of Jordan say?
During his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan said, “I believe this visit reflects decades of friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation between our two countries. Our nations benefit from a strong partnership and a shared desire to advance prosperity for our people. In the past few years, our cooperation has expanded across many sectors. Your visit today provides a significant opportunity to forge new avenues of economic cooperation in industry, ICT, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, energy, and many other areas of mutual benefit for our people.”
‘Looking forward to the Jordan-India Business Forum’
During his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein said, “We warmly welcome the signing of agreements and MoUs during your visit, as they will further our cooperation and open new avenues for collaboration. We are also looking forward to the Jordan-India Business Forum tomorrow as an opportunity to discuss business-to-business partnerships and joint investment opportunities in key sectors. I believe this platform will help expand trade, promote investment, and strengthen the already robust relations between our two countries.”
