Istanbul: The war between Russia and Ukraine is still going on. However, meetings are being held continuously from both sides regarding ceasefire. Meanwhile, the delegations of both the countries have once again met in Turkey   ( Turkey.) on Monday. This is the second direct peace talks between the two countries in the last two weeks. The meeting between the delegations of the two countries lasted for about an hour. In this meeting, Russia and Ukraine have agreed to exchange the bodies of 6000 soldiers killed in the war. Zelensky said in Vilnius, Lithuania, that the two sides “exchanged documents through Turkey and we are preparing for a fresh exchange of prisoners of war.”

Turkish foreign minister chaired

The Ukrainian delegation at the meeting was led by Defense Minister Rustam Umerov, while the Russian delegation was headed by Vladimir Medvedev, a close ally of Vladimir Putin. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan chaired the talks at the city’s Ciragan Palace and delivered an opening address. Recent comments by senior officials from the two countries indicate they are far apart on key conditions for stopping the war. Zelensky said 1,000 prisoners from both sides were swapped after the last round of talks on May 16. Andriy Yermak, the head of Zelensky’s office, said Ukraine had also handed Russia an official list of children who it said were forcibly deported and should be returned.

Attacks from both sides

Meanwhile, fierce fighting continues on the front line of about 1000 kilometers (620 miles). Continuous attacks are being carried out from both sides. Ukraine’s security service said that more than 40 Russian aircraft were destroyed inside Russia in a drone attack by Ukraine on Sunday, while Moscow attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones. At the same time, Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Monday that its air force shot down 162 Ukrainian drones over eight Russian regions as well as the (occupied Ukrainian) peninsula Crimea during the night. At the same time, Ukraine’s air force said that it destroyed 52 of the 80 drones sent by Russia overnight.

Ballistic missile attack on Ukraine
