New Delhi. A massive fire broke out in the textile market of Gandhi Nagar located in North Delhi on Wednesday evening. 35 fire tenders and about 150 firefighters are engaged in extinguishing the fire. At present, there is no news of any casualty in this incident. Confirming the fire department director Atul Garg said that the fire started inside a narrow lane. Due to this, vehicles are having trouble reaching inside and there is a problem in extinguishing the fire.
This fire has started in a shop named Jai Ambe located in Nehru Gali of Gandhi Nagar. It was told by the fire department that they got information about this fire at 5:40 pm, after which 35 fire tenders were immediately sent there. However, the shop where the fire broke out is on a very narrow street and there is no water source available nearby, making it difficult to douse the fire.
On the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, terming this incident as very unfortunate, tweeted, ‘This incident of fire in the textile market of Gandhinagar is very unfortunate. The fire department is diligently engaged in extinguishing the fire. I am taking all the information about the incident from the district administration. May Lord Shri Ram keep everyone well.
The textile market, located in the Gandhi Nagar area of the capital Delhi, is said to be the largest cloth market in Asia. There are only clothing shops in a very large area around here. In such a situation, there is also a concern that this fire does not reach other shops.
At present, the cause of the fire is being told as a short circuit. However, fire officials say that only after investigation they will be able to tell the exact reason.
