New Delhi. Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia has been arrested by the CBI. He was arrested by the CBI after nearly 8 hours of questioning in a case related to alleged irregularities in the formulation of Delhi’s excise policy. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has increased the security system in the city and in view of the law and order situation, several leaders and workers of the party including AAP MP Sanjay Singh have been taken into custody.
On the other hand, sources associated with CBI told about Manish Sisodia, arrest has been made under IPC section 120-B, 477A, PC Act 7. CBI will seek remand by presenting them in Rouse Avenue Court tomorrow. According to sources, Sisodia was arrested on charges of destroying evidence. According to sources, Sisodia is accused of destroying several phone sets. Meanwhile, the security of the CBI headquarters has been increased.

On the other hand, Delhi Police has taken AAP MP Sanjay Singh and other party workers into custody at Fatehpur Beri police station. Earlier, MP Sanjay Singh had claimed that the Delhi Police had arrested him and other party leaders. He had tweeted, ‘Delhi Police has arrested me, minister Gopal Rai ji, MLA Rituraj Jha, Dinesh Mohania, Rohit Mehraulia, Adil Khan along with many councilors and workers at Fatehpur Beri police station. Will not be afraid, will not bow down, will keep fighting. However, the DCP of South Delhi rejected his claim and said that ‘no arrest has been made. Considering the law and order situation, anyone can be kept in custody for 24 hours.
Kejriwal reached Manish Sisodia’s house, told patriot and decent man
After the arrest of Manish Sisodia, CM Arvind Kejriwal went to his house and met the family. Coming out from there, CM Kejriwal said, ‘We are seeing how Manish, who works for education, has been arrested in a false case. Manish is a patriotic man… Manish is a decent man… He has been arrested today. Arresting good people. People will respond to this.
He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party has benefited from the liquor policy. He said, “According to the law, you gave contracts to those blacklisted companies who could not give contracts. The Aam Aadmi Party got commission in the liquor scam. Manish Sisodia did the liquor scam, from which you benefited.
Along with this, he alleged, ‘Today, every child of Delhi knows that the Aam Aadmi Party and Manish Sisodia increased the wholesale commission of liquor from 2% to 12% for their commission so that the Aam Aadmi Party could earn big money. ‘
According to the information received, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will be presented in the court of CBI Judge MK Nagpal at Delhi Rouse Avenue after getting medical done.
What did the CBI say on the arrest of Sisodia?
Officials said officials from the CBI’s anti-corruption branch questioned the minister on various aspects of the excise policy, his alleged links with Dinesh Arora and other accused, and details of exchange of messages over several phones, among other issues. The CBI investigators were not satisfied with Sisodia’s answer and alleged that Sisodia was not cooperating in the investigation, resulting in his arrest.

Manish Sisodia had expressed apprehension of his arrest only when called for questioning by the CBI in the Excise Policy case and also said that he would fully cooperate with the probe agency.
Before going to the CBI headquarters, Sisodia went to Rajghat and paid tribute at Mahatma Gandhi’s samadhi. During this, he told reporters, ‘I can go to jail many times and I am not afraid. When I left my job as a journalist, my wife supported me and even today, my family stands by me/ my workers will take care of my family if I am arrested.
Earlier, Sisodia had written in a tweet, ‘Today I am going to CBI again, I will cooperate fully in the entire investigation. The love of lakhs of children and the blessings of crores of countrymen are with you. I don’t care if I have to stay in jail for a few months. He is a follower of Bhagat Singh, Bhagat Singh was hanged for the country. Going to jail because of such false allegations is a small thing.
Please tell that Manish Sisodia is also the Education Minister and Finance Minister of Delhi. He was called for questioning by the CBI last Sunday itself, but he sought time to appear citing budget-related work, following which, the CBI asked him to appear on February 26.
