Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Major news has emerged regarding an explosion in Pakistan. ( Pakistan) Fourteen people were killed and over a dozen injured in a blast during a peace rally in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of northwest Pakistan. According to officials, the explosion occurred at the ‘Swat Peace Rally’ in the Kabal town of Swat district. Swat police stated that 14 lives were lost, while approximately 15 people sustained serious injuries.
Suspected suicide attack at Swat Aman Jirga rally
According to sources, the explosion at the Swat rally appears to be a suicide attack; however, there has been no immediate official confirmation of this. The peace rally in Swat was organized by the ‘Swat Aman Jirga’ (local tribal council). The rally aimed to call for the establishment of peace in the region. So far, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Deteriorating security situation in Swat over recent months
It is noteworthy that the security situation in Swat has deteriorated over the past few months. According to officials, rescue teams admitted the injured to nearby hospitals, while police and other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area.
Explosion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa just a week ago
Prior to this, a powerful explosion had occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on July 26, resulting in two deaths. Reports indicate that this incident took place in the Bajaur district of the province. Two people lost their lives in the blast near Tali Band in the Salarzai Tehsil. According to the police, those killed in the blast have been identified as Ghulam and Suleman Qari, residents of Bajaur.

It is worth noting that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan has been grappling with unrest for the past few years. This is driven by militant violence, the cross-border movement of fighters from Afghanistan, and their clashes with Pakistani troops.
