Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron once again showcased the warmth of India-France relations to the world by delivering a farewell message in Hindi at the end of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France. Macron’s message has gone viral on social media and become a topic of discussion in diplomatic circles. President Macron released a video message at the conclusion of PM Modi’s visit, during which the latter had arrived in France to participate in the G-7 summit. Macron said in Hindi, (Hindi ) “Dear friend Narendra, I am very happy. We welcome you on your visit. Long live the France-India friendship.”
“Hope I got it right”
After delivering the message in Hindi, Macron smiled and said in a lighthearted manner in English, “I hope I got it right. Thank you for your visit. Thank you for our friendship. It has been a very successful visit. France loves you. We look forward to meeting you again in February. Jai Hind.” This special message from Macron is being seen as a symbol of the strong personal bond between the two leaders and the deepening strategic partnership between India and France.
PM Modi attends G-7 summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had arrived in France to participate in the G-7 summit. During the visit, he discussed various issues related to global challenges and held bilateral meetings with leaders from several countries. He met with numerous global leaders, including US President Donald Trump. A key highlight of the visit was the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Macron at Villa Kerylos in Nice. This was the first meeting between the two leaders since the relationship between India and France was elevated to the status of a ‘Special Global Strategic Partnership’ this year. During the meeting, both leaders reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the rapidly growing cooperation across various sectors. They welcomed the momentum in military cooperation and agreed to advance joint design, joint development, and joint production in the defence sector. Defence ties between India and France have steadily strengthened over the past few years. The two countries are collaborating in areas such as fighter aircraft, naval systems, emerging technologies, and strategic security.
