Amla Navami: The Navami of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month is called Akshaya Navami or Amla Navami. On this day, after worshiping the gooseberry tree, food is eaten sitting under it. This year Amla Navami will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. According to religious beliefs, the Amla tree is believed to be the abode of Lord Vishnu. Worshiping the gooseberry tree on the ninth day of Kartik Shukla, gets the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Happiness and prosperity increase. The festival of Devuthani Ekadashi will be celebrated two days after this festival.

According to the Puranas, on the day of Amla Navami or Akshaya Navami, the renewable virtue of worshiping the gooseberry tree is attained. Lord Vishnu is believed to reside on this tree.
