Karnataka MLA HD Revanna detained  (Karnataka MLA)

Karnataka: Karnataka JD(S) MLA  (Karnataka MLA) HD Revanna has been taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team. SIT is investigating the case of kidnapping of a woman. She is also investigating the rape allegations of her son Prajwal Revanna.
Important information related to the case:
The woman whose son had filed a kidnapping case against HD Revanna and his associate Satish has been found by the Karnataka Police. The woman is being brought to Bengaluru and then the SIT will talk to her.
The woman had worked at Revanna’s house for about five years and had left the job three years ago. Her son had alleged that HD Revanna’s man took away his mother on April 29 and she has been missing since then.
Just before he was taken into custody, HD Revanna’s request for interim protection from arrest in the kidnapping case was rejected by a local court. The Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) said, “Why was this woman kidnapped? We still don’t know about Prajwal Revanna’s involvement. Certain sections of the complaint reveal a lot about what happened. Are those women We cannot look at this FIR in isolation.
The SPP said, “The petitioner is influential. He has gone to the extent of threatening people… We want to understand whether this was done only on this victim, or there are others. We have to protect these people.” .”
The Karnataka Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing sexual harassment cases against the MLA’s son, also issued a lookout notice against his father today. Obscene video clips, allegedly related to Prajwal Revanna, had recently gone viral in Hassan, Karnataka. Prajwal is the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Lok Sabha candidate from Hassan.
It is believed that Prajwal Revanna had gone abroad on April 27, a day after the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka. His lawyer had asked for seven days’ time to appear before the SIT.
The Karnataka government today urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to seek help from other countries to trace Prajwal Revanna on charges of raping several women and blackmailing them through videos. Prajwal Revanna is the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
The First Information Report against Prajwal Revanna was lodged by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday after a Janata Dal (Secular) worker alleged that she was raped at gunpoint.
According to news agency IANS report, the woman was rescued from the farmhouse of HD Revanna’s personal assistant Rajashekhar in Kalenahalli village in Mysore district. The woman had gone missing on 29 April. When SIT officers reached there after a secret information, she was locked in the farmhouse.
Sources said that Rajashekhar is absconding after the SIT traced the woman. The woman will be brought to Bengaluru, where her statement will be recorded.
