India and China ( India and China) have decided to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra on Monday. Both sides agreed to take some people-centric steps to ‘stabilize and restore’ the relationship. The Ministry of External Affairs gave this information after Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held talks with his Chinese counterpart Sun Weidong in Beijing.
The matter was settled in the Kazan meeting
The Ministry of External Affairs said that both sides also agreed in principle to resume direct air services between the two countries. The Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘As agreed in the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping in Kazan in October, both sides comprehensively reviewed the status of India-China bilateral relations and agreed to take some people-centric steps to stabilize and restore the relationship.’
The journey will start in the summer of this year
The Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘In this context, both sides decided to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in the summer of 2025.’ The Ministry of External Affairs said that both sides also agreed to convene an early meeting of the India-China Expert Level Mechanism to discuss the resumption of provision of hydrological data and other cooperation related to cross-border rivers.
A framework will be prepared soon regarding the visit
The ministry said that both sides agreed to take appropriate steps to further promote and facilitate people-to-people exchanges, including interaction between the media and think tanks. The Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘They agreed in principle to resume direct air services between the two countries. The relevant technical officials of both sides will soon discuss a framework for this purpose.’
