At least 42 people were killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza on Thursday night and Friday. Staff at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said more than a dozen women and children were killed in attacks in Nuseirat, Jawaida, Maghazi and Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. Dozens of people were killed in Israeli attacks in these areas a day earlier. Abdul Rahman al-Nabrisi said in the Maghazi refugee camp, “We woke up to the sound of missile attacks. Israel also attacked from Yemen

On Thursday, there were attacks on Hamas security officials and the ‘humanitarian zone’ declared by Israel. Israelis also faced attacks on Friday morning. Israel said missiles were fired into the country from Yemen, causing air raid sirens in Jerusalem and central Israel and people to flee to safety. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, although faint sounds of explosions from missiles or interceptors could be heard in Jerusalem.

US-led talks have repeatedly stalled during the 15-month war, which began with an attack on Israel by Hamas-led militants on October 7, 2023. The militants have killed about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped about 250. About 100 hostages are still inside Gaza, at least a third of whom are feared dead.
