New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will face a no-confidence motion in Parliament on Monday. Earlier, Imran Khan had suffered a major setback when the court dismissed the no-confidence motion as completely unconstitutional and ordered voting on it. PM Imran Khan never wanted him to face such a situation because he does not have much.
Significantly, on April 3, the opposition had presented a no-confidence motion against the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, but the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Qasim Suri, rejected the proposal. Meanwhile, a top Pakistan government aide told CNN-News18 that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan plans to woo people to face a no-confidence vote on April 9.
In whatever political sequence of events has happened in Pakistan so far, PM Imran Khan fought legally and he also got full support of the public. Now today the Parliament session will be held in closed room and the PM feels that this will be the right time and the right place to reveal everything about the strategy against toppling the government.
According to sources, Imran Khan can explain everything in detail about the foreign letter behind the toppling of the government in this closed room. It is also said that Imran Khan has already said that he will not resign under any circumstances and will fight this battle no matter what the outcome.
The Pakistan government has set up an inquiry commission headed by a retired army officer to probe the foreign conspiracy behind bringing a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the decision to constitute the commission was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Khan. He said that the government will place the contents of the threatening letter in the National Assembly on Saturday. In the letter, there is purported “evidence” of a foreign conspiracy to oust Prime Minister Khan from power.
He said that a commission has been constituted to probe the issue related to the threat letter and it will be headed by Lt Gen (Retd) Tariq Khan. “The commission will investigate where the conspiracy was hatched and which local masters were involved in toppling the government,” he said.
“We have evidence that there were eight disgruntled provincial law makers in contact with foreigners. The commission will find out the link between the local operators and the change of power.
Let us tell you that the current term of the National Assembly of Pakistan was to end in August 2023. Khan came to power in 2018 with a promise to create a ‘Naya Pakistan’ but failed to address the fundamental problem of keeping commodity prices under check. Till date no prime minister has completed his term in Pakistan and Imran Khan could be the Pakistani prime minister who is being removed on the basis of no-confidence motion.
