New Delhi: The war between Iran (Iran ) and Israel is increasing tensions all over the world. Security of the Israeli embassy in Delhi has been increased. Delhi Police has cordoned off the entire area. The war between Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Hamas and now Israel-Iran may be fought thousands of kilometers away, but its direct impact will be seen on India and its people. Israel is ahead in the field of technology
The growing tension in West Asia, while Iran is a big oil producer. India has trade relations with both these countries. is a matter of concern for India. The Iran-Israel war has raised many questions for India. Will the oil prices increase due to this conflict? Will the economic business be affected? Will diplomatic difficulties increase? What will be the impact of the war on Chabahar Port and the Trade Corridor? Will the fire of West Asia spread to other areas? Will the US pressure increase?
The Indian Foreign Ministry has advised the citizens of the country to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran. The Foreign Ministry has asked Indians living in Iran to remain vigilant and stay in touch with the Indian Embassy in Tehran. The Foreign Ministry has said that we are very concerned about the deteriorating security situation in West Asia and reiterate the call to all concerned parties to exercise restraint and protect citizens. We urge that all issues should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
Meanwhile, a major Indian football team, Mohan Bagan Super Giant, has decided not to go to Iran. The team was to travel to Iran for a match there, but will not go now.
India has good relations with Israel and Iran
There is bilateral trade between India and Israel. India exports diamonds, diesel, aviation turbine fuel, radar equipment, rice and wheat to Israel. India imports space equipment, potassium chloride, mechanical appliances, printed circuits etc. from Israel.
The relations between Iran and India are also old. India has diplomatic relations with Iran since 1958. Around four thousand Indians live in Iran. Most of them are students or businessmen. There are around 1700 Indian students there. Most of the Indians are in Tehran. Apart from this, some Indians also live in Birjand, Zabol, Mashhad.
People from India are also living in Israel. Around 85 thousand Jews of Indian origin live there. About 18 to 20 thousand Indians work. They work in construction, manufacturing and service sector. Around 1000 students live in different places.
”No one loses in West Asia, and no one wins either”
Regarding the Israel-Iran conflict, former foreign secretary Shashank said, ”West Asia is a region where it has been known for many decades that no side is ready to lose, but there is no victory either. This leads to loss of life and property every time. Civilians suffer. There is a large reserve of oil in this region, it becomes unsafe. Nasrullah has been very popular. Therefore, it became necessary for Iran to give some response. However, after the rapid attack, Iran does not know what can happen to it. Iran has shown a little excess at the diplomatic level.”
‘Iran and Israel do not want a direct war between themselves”
Defense expert Brahma Chelani said, ”This is Iran’s second attack. Iran had also attacked in April. This time Iran attacked with ballistic missiles, which caused some damage to Israel. However, neither Iran nor Israel wants a direct war between them. When Iran attacked in April, it had informed the US three-four days in advance. On this, the US strengthened Israel’s air security. This time Iran gave only two-three hours’ notice to the US. This gave Israel and the US less time to defend themselves. Both countries do not want a war between themselves. Israel is already struggling with Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, Palestinians. Iran is a relatively weak country. This is the reason why both of them do not want a direct war to start.”
If Israel and Iran clash with each other, it can also affect India and its economy. The Iran-Israel war can affect trade through sea route. The agenda of the Economic Corridor (IMEC) being built between India and Europe can also get stuck. India’s shipping cost can increase. India imports about 85% of crude oil, the war can affect oil imports from Iran. If the war continues for a long time, gold and silver will become expensive and the stock market may also see a decline.
