Indian team takes an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series( 3-0 lead) 

Thiruvananthapuram: The third match of the 5-match T20 series between the Indian and Sri Lankan women’s teams was played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, where Team India continued its winning streak. The Indian women’s team won the third T20 match by a dominant 8 wickets and has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead    ( 3-0 lead)   in the series. In this match, the Sri Lankan women’s team batted first and could only manage a score of 112 runs in 20 overs. Team India then chased down this target in 13.2 overs, losing only 2 wickets.

Shafali Verma’s spectacular batting performance
In this T20 series, opening batter Shafali Verma has been in excellent form with the bat for Team India, and this continued in the third match. Chasing a target of 113 runs, the opening pair of Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana could only manage a 27-run partnership for the first wicket. Smriti Mandhana returned to the pavilion after scoring just one run. Jemimah Rodrigues then joined Shafali and provided excellent support, with the two sharing a 40-run partnership for the second wicket. Jemimah was dismissed after scoring 9 runs. From there, Shafali was joined by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, and the two forged a 48-run partnership for the third wicket, leading the team to victory. Shafali Verma displayed a spectacular batting performance in this match, scoring an unbeaten 79 runs off just 42 balls, including 11 fours and three sixes, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed an unbeaten 21 runs.

Shafali Verma surpasses Mithali Raj
In the third T20 match against Sri Lanka, Shafali Verma achieved another major milestone with the bat. She has now surpassed Indian cricket legend and former captain Mithali Raj in terms of most runs scored for the Indian women’s team in T20 Internationals, and now occupies the fourth position on the list. Shafali Verma has so far scored 2378 runs in 93 T20 International matches.
