Embassy releases helpline number
The Indian Embassy has advised its citizens residing in Israel to exercise caution. India issued this advisory considering the current situation in the region (Iran). It advises all Indian citizens currently in Israel to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to the security guidelines and protocols issued by the Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command. They are advised to obtain information about the latest security instructions, alert systems, safe places (safe rooms/shelters), and emergency procedures available on the official website of the Home Front Command (https://oref.org.il/eng).
Advised to remain vigilant during attacks in Israel
The advisory instructs citizens to immediately follow instructions in case of rocket attacks, drone threats, or other security challenges in Israel. They are advised to reach the nearest safe place within 90 seconds of a siren sounding. Indian citizens are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to Israel. The embassy said that if you are already in Israel, limit your travel unless absolutely necessary. If you are planning to travel from India to Israel, consider postponing your trip given the current circumstances.
