India, Israel to set up task force for defense cooperation

Tel Aviv. The Joint Working Group (JWG) of Israel and India has agreed to set up a task force to prepare a 10-year comprehensive roadmap to explore new areas of defense cooperation. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense, the 15th meeting of the JWG was held on Wednesday in Tel Aviv, Israel, which was co-chaired by Indian Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar and Director General of Israel Defense Ministry Amir Ishel.

The ministry said that it was also decided in the meeting that a Sub-Working Group (SWG) on Defense Industry Cooperation would be constituted and the terms of reference were signed by both the countries in this regard. “The formation of the SWG will help in effective utilization of bilateral resources, effective flow of technology and sharing of industrial capabilities,” the statement said. Accordingly, both sides also reviewed the progress made in military relations, including exercises and industry cooperation.
Let us tell you that the Pegasus espionage case is now being investigated in India too. In this regard, the Supreme Court has constituted an expert committee. Retired Supreme Court Justice RV Raveendran will be its chairman.

Earlier investigations related to Pegasus and other spy software are going on in Mexico, France and Israel, but so far these investigations have not yielded any concrete result.
