New Delhi. Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong in his farewell remarks while leaving Delhi has made a big statement about India-China relations. He urged to make full use of the communication channels established between India and China to avoid any misunderstanding. Weidong said, ‘We should increase communication and cooperation. China and India have established dialogue mechanisms at various departments and levels. We should make full use of all communication channels and deepen mutual understanding to avoid misunderstandings and miscalculations.
The Chinese ambassador said with this, ‘China and India are each other’s important neighbors. It is natural to have some differences between China and India. Most important in this is how we handle these differences. Therefore, both sides should try to resolve the differences. “Instead of defining China-India relations by differences, a proper solution should be sought through dialogue and consultation,” he said.
Along with this, he said that China has improved the visa application process for Indian citizens. He said that more than 1,800 visas have been issued to Indian students coming here to study. Along with this, visa applications have been resumed for people coming on business or family trips. “We hope that there will be more and more exchange of visits between our two countries,” Weidong said.
The tenure of China’s outgoing Ambassador Sun Weidong has come to an end amid the long-running military standoff between the two countries in eastern Ladakh. The Chinese ambassador has termed his more than three-year stint in India as an “unforgettable period”. Weidong had earlier tweeted, “Serving as the Chinese Ambassador to India has been an unforgettable time in my life. I will cherish all the memories of the last three years. With your cooperation and joint efforts, the friendship of our two countries will remain evergreen.
