The Border Roads Organization has put up a signboard at the entrance of Mana, a border village situated on the India-China border in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, to be ‘India’s first village’.(first village) Sharing its picture on social media, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote, ‘Now Mana will not be known as the last but the first village of the country.’
He said, ‘Last year in October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the border village Mana as the first village of the country and our government is always dedicated to the all-round development of the border areas.’ In 2014, PM Modi had stamped the Chief Minister’s statement that Mana was called the first village of the country instead of the last village of India and said that now for him also every village situated on the borders is the first village of the country.
Mana village is situated near Badrinath
He had said, “Earlier the areas which were ignored considering the country’s borders as the end, we started from there considering the country’s prosperity to be the beginning.” People come to Mana, digital technology is being used here.” Mana village is located near Badrinath and devotees going for Badrinath darshan go up to Mana village for tourism.
