Washington: US President Donald Trump   (Trump )  has outlined his conditions regarding a ceasefire with Iran, stating that Iran must accept that it will never develop nuclear weapons or bombs. The Strait of Hormuz must be opened immediately—without any tolls—to allow for unimpeded ship traffic in both directions. If there are any submerged mines (bombs), they are to be destroyed. “We have already cleared many such mines by detonating them using our powerful mine-clearing equipment,” he noted. “Iran must immediately remove or destroy all remaining mines—of which there are very few!” Donald Trump shared this information via a post on Truth Social.

Trump stated that Iran must reach a resolution regarding its uranium; specifically, it must—in close coordination with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)—excavate its enriched uranium and completely destroy it. Furthermore, there is to be no financial exchange until further notice. Agreement has already been reached on other, less critical conditions. “I am currently holding a meeting in the Situation Room to make the final decision,” he added.

Iran Responds: “Trump Is Telling a Blatant Lie”

Meanwhile, Iran has asserted that Trump is misrepresenting the terms of the agreement with Iran. Iran claims that Trump’s assertions—that Iran has agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz free of charge and to destroy its nuclear material—are entirely false, as neither of these points is included in the actual agreement. Iran maintains that, before negotiations can proceed further, the United States must immediately unfreeze $12 billion in Iranian assets; additionally, a complete ceasefire in Lebanon (on terms acceptable to Hezbollah) is deemed essential. The agreement is currently still awaiting final ratification within Iran. According to informed sources, Trump’s statements are a mixture of truth and fabrication—in a sense, an attempt to claim victory prematurely. Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated: The exchange of messages is ongoing, but no final agreement has been reached yet.
