Mirpur: The second match of the ongoing three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. In this match, the Pakistani team batted first after losing the toss, eventually being bowled out for a total of 274 runs in 47.3 overs. Meanwhile, while chasing the target, the Bangladesh team got off to a very poor start; however, amidst the proceedings, an unfortunate incident occurred on the field in which Pakistani player Hussain Talat (Hussain Talat ) had to be carried off on a stretcher and taken directly to the hospital.
Hussain Talat Injures Shoulder Attempting to Stop a Boundary
When the Bangladesh team began their chase, they had already lost three wickets by the end of the fifth over. Subsequently, Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy took charge of the innings. During the sixth over—being bowled by Pakistan’s Mohammad Wasim—Litton Das played a shot into the deep third-man region on the second delivery. Hussain Talat, who was fielding in that area, attempted to stop the ball as it raced toward the boundary but ended up injuring his shoulder in the process. Hussain Talat was seen writhing in considerable pain; observing the severity of his condition, he was immediately carried off the field on a stretcher and subsequently rushed to the hospital.
PCB Issues Update Regarding Talat
Following Hussain Talat’s injury, the PCB issued an update regarding his condition. They stated that Talat was attended to by the medical staff right on the field; however, given the apparent severity of his injury, he has been taken to the hospital for further examination. A comprehensive update regarding the nature of his injury is expected to be available once the doctors have completed the necessary medical examinations. Speaking of Hussain Talat, he made his debut in the ODI format in 2019; since then, the 30-year-old all-rounder has played only 11 ODI matches, in which he has managed to score a total of just 224 runs.
