Mamata Banerjee attacks BJP

Amidst the uproar, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee fiercely targeted BJP in the assembly. She termed BJP as ‘party of vote thieves’ and said, ‘BJP is a stigma for the country. These people are attacking the Bengali language and culture of Bengal. The people of Bengal shed their blood in the freedom struggle, then BJP was not even born.’

‘These people are torturing Bengalis’

Mamata accused BJP of conspiring against Bengal and Bengalis. She said, ‘These people are torturing Bengalis. In Parliament, we saw how BJP harassed our MPs through CISF. I say, a day will come when the people of Bengal will not vote for BJP and not a single MLA of theirs will be left in the assembly.’

Attacking the BJP, Mamata said, ‘You people are breaking the country into pieces. You give slogans of religion but God Allah will not forgive you.’

BJP also retaliated

BJP MLAs strongly opposed Mamata’s statements, due to which the atmosphere in the assembly became more heated. BJP accused TMC of minority appeasement and said that Mamata Banerjee is misleading the people of Bengal. After the uproar, the proceedings of the assembly had to be adjourned for some time. The news of Shankar Ghosh’s health deteriorating made the atmosphere more tense. This dispute between TMC and BJP is likely to increase further.
