UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 Result: There are two objective type papers in the Civil Services Prelims Exam. Paper 1 and Paper 2 are of 400 marks in total.New Delhi:
The Union Public Service Commission has declared the result of Civil Services Exam Prelims 2024 (UPSC CSE Exam 2024) on Monday. The exam was held on 16 June. You can check the result by visiting the official website of UPSC upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in. The GS paper was easier than last year. In such a situation, a high cut off is expected.
The exam was held in the designated centers in 79 cities of the country. The General Studies – Paper 1 exam was conducted in the first shift i.e. from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. In the second shift, the General Studies Paper 2 i.e. CSAT exam was conducted from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. This year about 13 lakh candidates had registered for the prelims.

The Civil Services Prelims Exam consists of two objective type papers. Paper 1 and Paper 2 carry a total of 400 marks. Both papers are in pen paper mode. To qualify in the Civil Services Mains Exam, it is necessary to clear the prelims exam. However, the marks of the prelims are not counted in the final merit.
Date of prelims exam also released in 2025
Recently, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the calendar of recruitment examinations to be held in 2025. Through this exam calendar, UPSC has announced the dates of CSE, NDA, CDS, IFS, IES, Geo-Scientist and other exams as well as the registration dates. According to the UPSC Exam Calendar 2025, the joint prelims exam of Civil Services Exam 2025 and Indian Forest Service Exam 2025 i.e. UPSC Prelims Exam will be held on 25 May.
The registration process for the prelims exam will start from January 22, 2025 and will continue till February 11, 2025. At the same time, the Civil Services Mains Exam 2025 will be conducted from 22 August, which will last for 5 days.
