Heavy snowfall in Kedarnath(Kedarnath ) Dham

Rudraprayag. Due to heavy snowfall in Kedarnath Dham, Kedarnath (Kedarnath ) Yatra route has been closed for movement due to breaking of glacier near Kuber and Bhairav glacier. The district administration has instructed the DDMA to open the yatra route. There is no information of any untoward incident due to the breaking of the glacier and the pilgrims coming to visit Kedarnath were already stopped by the police and administration in the lower reaches of Kedarghati, along with instructions to stay in safe places there. While the teams of DDRF and SDRF have been deployed on both sides of the yatra route for the safety of the yatris.

An attempt is being made to open the blocked route. SDRF has rescued four people trapped in the middle of the glacier. All four people of Nepali origin were stranded on the way between two glaciers. The road has been blocked due to breaking of glacier near Kuber and Bhairav Gadere. There is no information about any loss of life due to the breaking of the glacier. A major accident has been avoided because of stopping the yatra in advance. SDRF and DDRF are trying to open the blocked road. After the glacier blocked the road in Kedarnath, the work of removing the glacier from the road will start from tomorrow morning. For this the way will be made by 50 to 60 laborers.

The administration has claimed to open the route tomorrow i.e. Thursday by 11 am. As soon as the road opens, the journey to Kedarnath will start again tomorrow.
