New Delhi. Today in Delhi-NCR, the sky will be partly cloudy and there is a possibility of drizzle. In Delhi-NCR, on the evening of 20 April, accompanied by strong wind, hailstorm accompanied by rain occurred at many places for a short time. According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to be 37 degree Celsius today and the minimum temperature is expected to be 21 degree Celsius. While the weather is expected to remain dry in Uttar Pradesh today. The maximum temperature remained in the range of 40 to 44 degree Celsius over East India and parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Central India, Interior Maharashtra and Rayalaseema. Whereas, except for the western Himalayan region (12-25 °C), the maximum temperature in the rest of the country remained between 35-40 °C.

Gangetic West Bengal has been reeling under heatwave (Heat wave ) conditions for the last 10 days, while Bihar has been reeling under heatwave conditions for the last 7 days and Odisha for the last 5 days. The IMD has predicted severe heatwave conditions in parts of Gangetic West Bengal in eastern India. The heatwave is likely to continue in the state on April 21 and 22 as well. In Bihar also there is a possibility of heat wave in different areas on 21st April. There is a possibility of heat wave in different areas in Odisha today.

IMD has predicted light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning in the next western Himalayan regions. There is also a possibility of hailstorm at some places in Uttarakhand on April 21. There is a possibility of heavy rains at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during 20 to 22 April. There is a possibility of rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during the next 4 days. There is also a possibility of scattered hailstorm in Chhattisgarh on 23 April. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain in some parts of Interior Maharashtra as well as scattered hailstorm at many places in Central Maharashtra, Marathwada. While there is a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha during April 21 to 24.
