Mumbai (Anil Bedaag): There is a legal case going on against the makers of Vicky Vidya’s Woh Wala Video film and Netflix, which is to be heard on September 9. The film is a comedy film starring Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri, directed by Raj Shandilya and produced by T-Series Films, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wakaoo Films and Kathavachak Films.
Amit Gupta, the original writer of the story of this film, has filed a case against all the film producers and has forced Netflix to come to court along with the producers. This is the first time in Bollywood that a case has been filed against so many producers together, including Bhushan Kumar, Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Raj Shandilya and Vimal Lahoti.
The film is about a newlywed couple Vicky and Vidya, who make a private video during their honeymoon which later gets stolen. They then embark on an exciting journey to get the video back. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video was released on 11 October 2024 and later became available for streaming on Netflix. The film received mixed reviews and did not perform well at the box office.
The legal case filed by Amit Gupta will be heard on September 9. Amit Gupta’s lawyer Sunil Shukla has claimed that his case is strong and the verdict will be in his favor because justice always prevails for the truth. Amit Gupta was also threatened with death, so this case has become not just a copyright case but also a criminal case. Although the details of the case are not publicly available, it will be interesting to see how this case progresses and what impact it has on the film and Netflix.
