New Delhi: A western disturbance is once again becoming active in many states of the country including Delhi from today. Due to this, it may rain in some states. At the same time, rain with strong winds is being seen at many places in the northeastern states. On the other hand, the effect of heat i being seen due to rising temperatures in areas of Maharashtra including Mumbai.s (Punjab)
Rain alert here including Delhi
The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in Delhi and its surrounding areas in the next 24 hours. An alert has been issued in view of the possibility of heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh till February 28 and in Himachal Pradesh from 26 to 28. The rainy season may continue here till March 2 or 3. There is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall at some places in the western Himalayan region between today and March 1.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain with thunder in Uttarakhand on 27th and 28th. Also, light to moderate rain may occur in some parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh between February 26 and March 1. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in some places in Punjab and Haryana on February 27.
Rain may occur in these districts of UP
Rain is also likely in many areas of Uttar Pradesh. Thunderstorms are possible in Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli adjoining Delhi. There is also a possibility of rain in Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Hapur and Moradabad. There may be rain in Sitapur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur and Farrukhabad. At the same time, the rain may continue in Aligarh, Mathura and Sambhal districts.
Himachal will receive rain for the next three days
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh for the next three days. Accordingly, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for four districts of the state on February 26 and an orange alert on February 27. Shimla-based IMD senior scientist Sandeep Kumar Sharma said that after the western disturbance, “rain and snowfall activity is increasing in Himachal Pradesh.
The IMD has forecast snowfall in the higher reaches of Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Sirmaur and Kinnaur within the next 24 hours. Thunderstorms and lightning are likely in Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Bilaspur and Hamirpur on February 26. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Kullu, Chamba, Kangra and Mandi, due to which the IMD has issued a yellow alert. For February 27, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts.
