Gurugram: A deeply emotional scene unfolded in Gurugram as the last rites of five members of the Agarwal family, who died in a devastating fire in Delhi, were performed together. The sight of five pyres arranged side by side at the cremation ground moved relatives, neighbors, and local residents to tears.
According to information available so far, all five family members lost their lives in the fire incident. Their bodies were brought to Gurugram for the funeral, where relatives and extended family members carried out the rites because no direct heir remained in the immediate family to perform the ceremony.
Witnesses said a large number of relatives, friends, neighbors, and local residents attended the funeral. As the pyres were lit simultaneously, the cremation ground fell into a somber silence punctuated by grief-stricken cries from mourners.
Preliminary reports indicate that the blaze broke out in a residential area in Delhi and spread rapidly. Thick smoke and intense heat reportedly left the victims with little time to escape. Emergency and rescue teams responded to the incident, and authorities have begun investigating the cause of the fire.
Neighbors described the Agarwal family as friendly and well-regarded in the community. The tragedy has renewed public concern over fire-safety measures in residential buildings and apartment complexes.
Officials said the investigation is continuing and all aspects of the incident are being examined.
