Gas cylinder prices reduced  (cylinder ) 

Delhi: There has been a huge cut in the prices of commercial gas cylinders.    (cylinder )     Oil marketing companies have revised the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders and reduced the price of 19 kg LPG gas cylinder by Rs 51.50. The new prices will be effective from September 1. Now the retail price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will be Rs 1580. However, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic cylinders. Last month also, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were cut by Rs 24.

The reduction in commercial cylinder prices will provide relief to restaurants, hotels and other commercial establishments, which are heavily dependent on 19 kg LPG cylinders for their daily operations. Commercial LPG gas prices have been cut for the fourth consecutive month. In early May, public sector oil companies had cut the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 14.50. Earlier, on April 1, prices were cut by Rs 41 per cylinder.

No change in LPG domestic cylinder price

There has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinder. In March, the BJP-led central government had hiked the price of domestic LPG cylinder by Rs 50, citing a surge in global crude oil prices after US President Donald Trump announced tariffs. Due to local taxes and transportation charges, LPG prices vary across different states. Though the cut is marginal, it provides some financial relief to businesses across the country.

Prices are fixed every month

It is worth noting that state-run oil companies, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), revise the prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and LPG on the first of every month. These revisions are based on average international benchmark fuel prices and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.
