Ayodhya: Everyone is waiting for the completion of the Ram temple being built at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. Many people want to know how much the construction of the temple has been done? When will the idol of Ramlala be consecrated in the temple? From when will the devotees of the temple Ramlala get their darshan? The answers to all these questions have been given by Champat Rai, the secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust himself.
He told on Friday that almost half of the construction work of the Ram temple in Ayodhya has been completed and by the next Makar Sankranti, the idol will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum where the rays of the rising sun will fall on the idol’s head. A day before the Makar Sankranti festival, the ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’ on Friday allowed journalists to enter the Ram Janmabhoomi complex to inspect the progress of construction. Trust Secretary Champat Rai said, “The whole country is celebrating the festival of Makar Sankranti and the Sun is entering Capricorn and we have achieved more than half of our target of building the Ram temple.”
Till now the construction work of the ground floor of the temple has reached close to fifty percent.
He said that as soon as the sun enters ‘Capricorn’ in 2024, Lord Rama will sit in his original sanctum sanctorum. Rai said that till now the construction work of the ground floor of the temple has reached close to fifty percent. It is believed that by August this year, the ground floor of Lord Shriram’s sanctum sanctorum will be ready. He said that the construction of 21 feet high platform from the ground has already been completed and the work of layering stones up to the height of 11 feet has been done. He said that the ground floor of the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Ramlala will have 170 pillars. According to the engineers involved in the construction process, the sanctum sanctorum will be completed by January next year.
Ground floor work to be completed by January 2024
Project manager of Ram temple construction work, Jagdish Afley said that two architects CB Sompura and Jai Karthik are involved in the construction of Ram temple. Affle said that so far more than forty-five percent of the temple construction work has been completed. He informed that the ground floor work would be completed by January 2024, but it would take at least five more months to reach the top. The construction work of Kalyan Mandap, Ritual Mandap and Devotee Facilitation Center is pending in Ram Janmabhoomi.
Two different idols will sit in the sanctum sanctorum of Ramlala
Affle said that two different idols will be enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum of Ramlala and these will be ‘movable idols’ and ‘immovable idols’. According to him, the 1949 idol ‘Chal Vigraha’, which is being worshiped today, would be enshrined there. Apart from this, a big idol will also be installed there which will be ‘Achal Vigraha’. He said, “We are designing the sanctum in such a way that the rays of the rising sun fall on the heads of the idols.” The architects and engineers have taken special care that the temple is safe for a thousand years.
