Kalki started her film career in 2009 with the film Dev D, directed by famous actor Anurag Kashyap. He caught people’s attention with his acting in his first film and he received the Filmfare Award for this film. After this he did films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Jiya Aur Jiya, Gully Boy.

During the shooting of Dev D, she grew close to Anurag Kashyap and both of them got married in the year 2011. But this relationship did not last long and they both got divorced after two years.
