Four lakh devotees visited Chardham

Dehradun: Despite the late start of Chardham Yatra in the Corona period, the number of pilgrims coming to Uttarakhand has crossed a record four lakhs. Of these, more than two lakh pilgrims have reached Kedarnath Dham alone. On Sunday, 5624 devotees visited Shri Badrinath Dham, 4985 in Shri Kedarnath Dham, 168 in Shri Gangotri Dham, 440 in Shri Yamunotri Dham. A total of 11217 devotees had darshan. So far, the total number of pilgrims who have reached Char Dham is 414607 devotees have visited.

After the announcement of the date of closure of the doors of the four Dhams, the number of pilgrims is increasing continuously. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be closed on November 6. The doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be closed on November 5 and 6. Preparations have already started to close the doors. The number of pilgrims is also increasing after the Chardham, which was closed due to the Corona period, started in 2021.

With the arrival of Chardham Yatra in the last fortnight, the heli tickets for Kedarnath Dham have started fraying. Not a single ticket is available on GMVN’s site till 31st October. On the other hand, there is a scuffle on the helipad for offline tickets. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be closed at 6 in the morning on the day of Bhaiya Dooj. Before this, there is enthusiasm among the devotees to have darshan of Baba in the Dham.

Anyway, for the first four and a half months of the yatra this year, the passengers were not allowed to go to the Dham due to Kovid. So now the heli tickets for the last two weeks have started rumbling. Heli service tickets are being booked from the website of GMVN. Till 3 pm on Thursday, not a single ticket was available on the GMVN website till October 31.
