The world’s first flying three-wheeler sports car has finally been approved to fly for testing. The name of this flying car is Switchblade. It has been prepared by the American company Samson Sky. The company was working on this for 14 years. Let’s know the specialty of this flying car.
This car can fly at a speed of 322 kmph. It can also be easily driven on the ground with the help of three wheels. Its length is 5.1 m and width is 1.8 m. It can also be easily kept in a home made garage. Its speed on the ground can reach 201 kmph.
Its wings and tail can be opened after being taken to the airport. It takes only three minutes to open it. With the help of these wings and tail, it can fly easily in the sky. Last month, the Switchblade received Federal Aviation Administration approval from the US government. It is capable of covering a range of 450 miles (724 km) before its 113-litre fuel tank needs to be refilled.
The Switchblade will now go through several tests. In this test, it will be seen driving like a taxi on the ground and it will also be seen by flying in the sky. Its take-off speed is estimated to be 88 mph. It can reach heights of 13,000 feet (4 km). On landing, it can quickly switch to driving mode.
According to the company, 2,100 people from 52 countries and all 50 states of America have already booked this car for purchase. Its sale will be approved only after testing. The company said that the initial buyers include NASA engineers, airline pilots and several industrialists.
To take the Switchblade on the road, a driver’s license and a pilot’s license to fly it will be required, which can be flown from any type of airport, public or private. The cost of each Switchblade kit will be around $170,000, or about Rs 13 and a half crore. This includes engine, transmission, avionics, interior and Samsun Builder Assist program.
