According to the latest forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, there will be dense to very dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for the next 5 days. There is a possibility of fog outbreak especially in the morning and evening and at night. In the mountainous states of Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, fog can remain for the next 3 days. People of West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Manipur and Mizoram may also have to live under the shadow of fog for the next 2 days. There is a forecast of fog in Odisha and Chhattisgarh till Wednesday.
Cold wave alert for these states
Severe cold wave alert has been issued in Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and Delhi. The Meteorological Department says that from 4 to 6 January 2023, there will be severe cold in these states. In such a situation, people have been advised to take extra precautions. In Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh also, the outbreak of cold wave is expected to continue for the next 2 to 3 days. Some part of Madhya Pradesh is also in the grip of cold wave.
Chance of rain in many states
The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain in many states / union territories on Wednesday. There is a possibility of rain at some places in Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim on January 4, 2023. There is also a possibility of rain in Jammu and Kashmir, West and East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It may rain at some places in Kerala and Lakshadweep.
