Elon Musk offered Twitter $ 44 billion

New Delhi. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reportedly sent a letter to Twitter with his old offer to buy Twitter once again. Bloomberg has given this information citing unnamed sources. According to the news, Elon Musk has offered $ 54.20 per share to buy the micro blogging site. Significantly, this is the same offer that Musk had given before pulling out of the deal. Let us inform that there has been no official response from any party on the news of being offered again.

Musk had offered $44 billion in April this year to buy Twitter. The deal was also approved by the regulators and the company’s shareholders. However, Musk again withdrew from the deal, saying that Twitter did not give him the correct information about the bots. He also alleged that the company had not given him proper information about its user base.

Twitter shares rose up to 18 percent after news of Musk sending the offer surfaced. After this the company’s shares were halted on the New York Stock Exchange. Whenever there is a very sharp ups or downs in the shares, then its trading is stopped on the NYSE. At present, trading in Twitter shares on the NYSE is halted. Its shares were up 12.79 per cent before trading halted.

There is a face-off in the court on October 17
After Musk withdrew from the deal, Twitter sued him. The first hearing in the case is to be held on October 17. This trial will go on in the Delaware Court of America. After this, Musk also filed a counter suit file against Twitter. There were reports that Musk had also requested to extend the date. However, the court had denied such reports.
