PM Modi is at the seventh position in the list of people with the most followers in X. At the same time, Musk tops this list.

Globally, PM Modi is way ahead of world leaders like US President Joe Biden (38.1 million followers), current ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed (11.2 million followers) and Pope Francis (18.5 million followers). Given PM Modi’s popularity on X, world leaders are keen to connect with PM Modi on social media. Because connecting with him significantly increases their own followers, engagement, views and reposts. We have seen this in Italy and Austria recently as well.
More followers than sportspersons
PM Modi is ahead of even the world’s popular sportspersons in terms of followers on X. PM Modi has more followers than Virat Kohli (64.1 million), Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr (63.6 million) and American basketball player LeBron James (52.9 million).
